Our Doctrine
Mount Calvary Community Church is an interdenominational fellowship that is fundamental and unapologetic in our presentation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. In a day when diluted messages are producing deluded people, we stress a straightforward proclamation of the Word of God, emphasizing what we consider to be the foundational truths of Jesus Christ for those who believe... Preaching, Teaching, Healing, and Prophecy.
We emphasize:
-
The Bible as the foundation for Christian living. Whenever and wherever the Word of God is neglected or ignored, error and imbalance are close behind.
-
Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, acknowledging Him as the Source of our salvation and the Resource for power-filled living!
-
The presence and ministry of the Holy Spirit, who comes to glorify and magnify Jesus, lifting Him up so that all men will be drawn into the Kingdom. We believe it is His indwelling presence in our lives that brings us into fulfillment and fruitfulness.
-
Interdenominational fellowship with all members of the Christian faith. We recognize that those who belong to Jesus are all members of the same Body of Christ, though we may go by different names and points of emphasis.
As a Bible-believing church, we stand on these foundational truths: Repentance and Forgiveness.
All men need forgiveness for sin. The Bible tells us that we have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23). Jesus told us to "Repent, for the Kingdom of heaven is at hand" (Matthew 4:17). We believe that all men enter the kingdom of God only through a born-again experience, accepting Jesus Christ as Savior (John 3:3-5, Romans 10:9-11).
Our Belief
-
The Bible, the Scriptures, both Old and New Testaments, are the inspired Word of God without error in the original writings, and are the complete revelation of His will for the salvation of men, and the divine and final authority for all Christian faith and life.
-
We believe in one God, eternally existing in three manifestations, being God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. God the Father, being the creator of all things, Jesus Christ being God the Son, born of the Virgin Mary, sent for the atonement and as redeemer for all sins, God the Holy Spirit being the comforter and manifestation of the power and presence of God.
-
We believe in the Communion of the Saints and Communion consisting of bread as representation of Jesus body which was broken for us and the fruit of the vine as representation of Jesus blood that was shed for us.(1 Corinthians 11:23-29) The washing of the Saints feet is to show humility, servant-hood and brotherly love demonstrated by the disciples of Jesus Christ. (John 13:4-17)This done in remembrance of the death, burial and resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
-
We believe in the ministry of the Five Fold Gifts consisting of the Apostle, the Prophet, the Evangelist, the Pastor, and the Teacher all walking in the order of the apostolic authority established by Jesus Christ through the apostles of the early church according to the book of Acts. (Ephesians 4:11; Acts 1:8)
-
We believe Jesus Christ, suffered under Pontius Pilate, crucified, died, buried, descended into hell, snatched from Satan the keys to life and the power over death and the grave, rose on the third day and ascended into Heaven.
-
We believe Jesus Christ is now seated at the right hand of God the Father, making intercession for the saints and will return again to judge the world, both the living and the dead.
-
We believe in the One Holy Church, the fellowship of Saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life eternal through our savior Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. Water baptism by immersion soon after accepting Christ as personal Savior, is a testimony of death to sin and resurrection to a new life.
